Goodwill Hunting

Happy New Year! Here's to a healthy, successful, and fun 2010!
In preparation for the madness that will arrive with graduation, I am trying to get some of the work out of the way now to avoid drama down the road. Later today I will be heading 3 hours north on I-5 to my hometown for a photoshoot.
The garments I have made up until this point need to be professionally photographed -I have around 8 dresses, 3 tops, and a jacket that I'm planning to shoot Saturday. There are many more items, but I figure that's a good start. My photographer is my brother's girlfriend, and my model is a friend of theirs. We worked together last September and they made what I had to accomplish so much easier, I signed them both on to do my portfolio shots.
I've been putting together lists of accessories and styling for each garment and found I needed to get my model some shoes. To Goodwill!

The first pair were almost exactly what I wanted.

Mossimo Dylan Round-Toe Platform Pumps

These retail at Target for $24.99. I paid $6.99! They don't appear to have been worn more than once. No scuffs, scrapes, or wear on the insole.

I decided to go back a couple of days later and found these.

Style & Co. "Handy" Mahogany Heels

These had not been worn at all. The price tag was still inside:

As before, I paid a whole $6.99 for them!

I also snagged a black sleeveless jumper by WD.NY for $5.99. I just loooooooove bargains.

I will be doing hair and makeup, so I made a quick trip to CVS for a few of those little things I should have on me, just in case: Band-Aids, a travel bottle of hairspray, a mini lint roller, and Tylenol. I found another deal in the makeup department.

Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Venetian Blue

At 75% off, I paid $1.25 for it. It's a beautiful, peacock-y shade of blue.

Lastly, I broke down and bought something I have been wanting for quite a while. Being able to use them at the photoshoot as well was enough to push me over the edge. I hope they work and my model does not look like she just came from Jersey Shore.

I'm hoping for good weather and a fun time, even if we will be working! I'll post the results soon.

Until then...
